$350 Tall Clothing Mall Give Away

Last week, I was approached by Tall Clothing Mall to participate in a give away celebrating their 7th anniversary! Obviously, I was super excited to participate!

For those of you who don't know, I am taller than the average girl.  I'm a solid 6'0 feet tall when barefoot. If you meet me in real life, it's the first thing you'll notice about me. Unless I'm sitting down, however, we'll more than likely discuss my height when I inevitably have to stand up. I'm used to the tall inquisition, and I can rattle off my height faster than the average person. Years of practice!

Being a tall person comes with many advantages and also comes with many challenges. I could do an entire post on the awkwardness that comes with towering over other people. In the South, tall girls are the minority in a big way. The unexpected eye contact when I travel up north is always a surprise. Other funny things have happened there. I just found something new to write about....

Back on topic ADD girl

One of the biggest challenges is in the clothing department. Pants are ALWAYS an issue. I can not walk into any store today right now and buy a pair of pants that will be long enough me. It's not going to happen. Hello special order! I also have  ginormous feet. My size 11 feet prevent me from dropping cheddar in the shoe department, and let's be real, that's probably a good thing. However, recently, I have discovered a handful of fashion blogs just for the long legged ladies. We have our own genre!!! Excite. These ladies find clothing made specifically for tall women and post on where to shop and what to buy. There's also smatterings of tall chatter taking place that have me feeling OHEMGEE I'm not alone! ME TOO! My  two favorites right now are All the Tall Things and Tall Snob. I am such a wannabe fashionista.

I have a lot of luck with tops at Target- Vest (Late December) and Blouse (Last Spring)

I teamed up with Tall Clothing Mall for a $350 give away for one lucky tall lady. All you have to do is head here to participate, and register to win!

How tall are you? Do you have an awkward tall person story? I'd love to hear it!

  1. I may not be as tall, but I feel your pain in the shoe department. It is so hard to find nice shoes in my size. Unusually go through the shoe store trying to find a box with 11 on it then look at the shoes :/ online shops are my friend

  2. 5'11! I love being tall. One of the perks of being married to a man who is 6'4 is that I can rock a 4inch heel and still not be taller than him :) I love love love the TSM you pinned on pinterest about being a tall girl. I could relate to them all. And I would kill over if I won the giveaway!

  3. I'm only 5'6", but I have a long torso and large -ahem- girls, which makes buying tops a pain! If they're long enough, they make me look like a tent. If they fit nicely, they're probably too short. Ah, the joys of womanhood. We can never win.

Check out eshakti.com for clothes though! Some of the options are, well, matronly. But they usually have some cute clothes too- and you can custom size (by height!!) AND custom style them if you wanna change the necklines/sleeves/length. I've gotten some cute stuff there for reasonable prices and it always fits perfectly!

  4. I'm 5'10" and have a size 11 foot now too thanks to my 2 babies stretching them out! Have long legs and a long torso makes clothes shopping a real pain! But you're right, I don't have nearly as many shoes as my short girlfriends! :)

  5. Can we talk about athletic shirts for people with long arms!?!?! Like, why did you place that thumb hole there...I'd love to be able to use it, but oh wait, I can't, BECAUSE IT'S HALFWAY UP MY ARM!

  6. 5'11 here and hate that I can't ever find pants that are long enough...

  7. I'm 5'8 which to my mind isn't ridiculously tall but in my area of Pennsylvania it is. Everyone, men and women, are shorter than me. My immediate family is all tall but many of my aunts, uncles, and cousins aren't. Most of my friends are shorter and men... ugh it sucks trying to find one that is over 5'10!

  8. I'm 6'2, so I know how you feel. And I've got big ole feet! I'm used to the tall questions, and I don't really mind being so tall. I do have plenty of awkward tall stories of course! :)

  10. I'm 6'1 so I know you're pain. I can't find pants, shorts and dresses are sometimes obscene on me, and shoes are damn near impossible to find! Everyone always tells me to be happy that I'm so tall, and that they would trade with me in a heartbeat, but they don't understand the challenges! I'm extremely used to the tall questions and have plenty of stories to share :)

    Hooray tall girls!
