Happy Halloween!!

Good Morning and Happy Halloween! As I'm writing this my Halloween has sadly wrapped :( We don't get trick or treaters at our house, and I've got gym time this evening, but we did have a fun one over at the Noel casa!

Saturday night, we attended the First Annual Halloween Party of a friend's and boy oh boy did we have fun. There was lots of food, dancing, music, raunchy adult costumes, raunchy adult conversation, and jello shots galore! We ended up staying out until about 2:30am and that is LATE for me. Our group of five rode together out to the party, meeting at our house as it's centrally located for everyone. We had ourselves a little primpin partay! Ie, help each other fix our hair, pre-game, and impromptu photo shoot!

Those of you on Instragram (@ellenoelfitness) know I went as a flapper! I used this Pin from pinterest to style from hair, it took both Madeline and I to roll up and pin each curl which took about 45 minutes. She's such a great friend to me! It held up fantastically. I still had curls the next morning!

Then It was Photo Shoot Time!

After we'd had a few they were the funniest thing we'd EVER seen

We made Scare Crow Crunch - Thanks again Pinterest!

This was such a FUN night. Halloween as an adult is ten times better than it was as a kid. It's one of my favorite holidays anytime I get to dance my face off and shoot jello, it's a great day!

Next on the Halloween stop was Monster Dash, which I told ya'll about yesterday!

Princess Consuela Banana Hammock found this awesome action shot on their website yesterday. She looks like a gazelle, me, ugh, those are some white legs! Must. Get. Spray. Tan!

and concluding my Halloween fun- it's off to work I go!

I feel a teensy bit bad for saying this, but the next big upcoming event I'm super excited about is Christmas. (Sorry Thanksgiving!) I am a Christmas girl to the core. True confessions- I've already added in Michael Buble and Justin Beiber Christmas albums into my daily listening. I love everything about this time of year. The music, the decorations, the warm fuzzy feelings coupled with being with family and friends, giving gifts, receiving gifts, awkward office get togethers, and getting uber excited to receive Christmas cards in the mail! Oh Christmas I love thee, how appropriate that I married a Noel huh!?

Now the countdown begins- how long can I wait to put up my Christmas tree? Three years in a row now, I haven't made it to Thanksgiving before bringing out the tinsel, my track record ain't good!

Running for a Cause & Weekly Goals

Good morning and Happy Tuesday! Linking up with Aly yesterday was super fun, and hysterical. Be sure to check out every one's I Wore What?! pictures if you haven't already!

A few weeks ago, my very dear friend Princess Consuela Banana Hammock, insisted I do 5k with her on a Monday night. Say what? A Monday 5k, what's going on?

"Join us Monday, October 29, 2012, in your best Halloween costume, for a one mile walk or a three mile run to support SPC Zach Parker, Army Medic and triple amputee who was wounded in action"

Say no more friend, I am all over that. For the first time in months I skipped my usual R.I.P.P.E.D. class to participate in such an amazing cause. We didn't wear costumes, but I did wear a pair of candy corn socks and a pumpkin head band, which I wore running all 3.25 miles.

Don't be impressed, one girl ran in a wedding dress, another lady ran dressed as a chicken and she was pushing a stroller with her baby chick inside, I trailed a man in a zombie dress, and another girl ran in a sexy bee costume- all of those people smoked me.

Time wasn't overly important to me on this run. I wanted to beat my personal best 5k time which was 32:35 on October 6, 2012 when I was averaging 10:27 a mile. However, the goal didn't consume my thoughts, I didn't think about my time, I just took off running, when it felt good I ran faster, when it felt bad I slowed down, and when it came time to running downhill, I slowed down out of fear I would face plant - it was pointed out to me that I should have made that hill my friend, but oh well, I ran for fun.

At the very end, one of the trainers from running clinic hollered out to me (after I sissy girled the down hill) "MOVE IT LEIGH ANN!!!" I picked up the pace to full on sprint, it was FUN. This was not an emotional run for me, not like Saturday's run was. I really did leave all that self doubt and negativity on that last mile of my 5 mile run.

I am a runner now. I ran 3.25 miles in 30:36 averaging 9:25 per mile, smoking my previous run times, faster even than Saturday. Never ever underestimate yourself :)

Princess Consuela Banana Hammock and I Post Run

My next race will be the Cajun Cup 10K, we're into week 8 of training, and our last long group run is this Thursday, a 5.5 miler, then it's race time. I'm already itching to jump into half marathon training. These last 8 weeks of training for the 10k have been life changing for me, I never ever thought, that I would be a runner. I never understood how emotional running can be, and I certainly thought people who woke up early on Saturday morning's to go running were clinically insane. It easy to be judgemental from the drive thru at McDonald's- the only reason I used to leave home before 10am on a Saturday. Times they are a changing!

I Wore What!?!

This morning, I'm linking up with Aly to discuss fashion faux pas, and I wore what!? If I had the time this past weekend, I would've found lots of great oldy 80's and 90's faux pas for you, however since I've been social net working since high school a la Myspace, I've got tons of more recent stuff for you to laugh at!

Post Senior Prom 2005, I'd turned 18 three minutes ago, and where I'm from, that means you get to go out to the bar! Ah Louisiana Love. It's also tradition for seniors to wear all white to prom, so we decided it would a great idea to wear all white to a night club post prom. Screams adult right? This ain't P.Diddy's White Party girls. I immediately regretted this outfit.

Next, enter Myspace and the fake silky shirt trend. I thought this was the funniest picture of myself. It was probably my Myspace profile picture for a year. For the record, I didn't actually go out dressed like this, just blasted it all over the Internet.

Continuing the silky shirt trend- I went out showing my mid-drift, in 2006. I thought this was a great idea since Britney was doing it. This was pre melt down Britney, when she was the hottest thing to ever roll out of Louisiana. In college- anything goes right? I remember asking my friend K Dub how the mid drift looked, and we completely supported one another's outfits, but I was concerned about sitting down. Ya know, this was college drunkarexia phase- I did NO working out. I still remember what K Dub said to me. " So don't do much sitting! Let's roll!"

More recent- January 2010. I spent roughly two years hiding my body underneath that black wrap. It looked dumb, and I was always hot.

There's a few secret albums floating around Facebook of my Bachelorette Party that was wild, crazy, going down with a bang true Elle Noel style. I thought I found a picture that wasn't incriminating of me and my MOH and made it my profile picture. All good till my Maw Maw saw her grand baby with a penis name tag on her boob. Ooops!

I can't wait to see all of your faux pas pictures, linking up sure is fun to do :)

30 Day Challenge Run- Baring my Soul

My 30 Day October Challenge was to run 5 miles under 50 minutes. In the days leading up to the run, I was doubting myself. I was worried I'd set the bar to high. I didn't think I would achieve my goal. I felt I had challenged myself to a run that was out of my physical capabilities. In my previous runs, I've been just behind the even 10 minute mile mark, the ap I use to track my runs is called Nike Running, I have it set to talk to me every five minutes when It tells me my pace and distance. I haven't been able to run an even 10 minute mile comfortably, I wasn't even able to do it last week on my 4.5 mile run. A fat rat chasing a big piece of cheese that's always out of my reach. (Yes, this is what I have inwardly been comparing myself too) I didn't think I could do it.

I did speed work twice this week, but I didn't think I'd be able to run even 10 minute miles for five miles. (This was the first time I'd ever run that distance- yes, EVER) Friday, our first cold front rolled in, and our running group was not running in our usual neighborhood. We ran in one of the our only Louisiana "hilly" neighborhoods AND it was 50 degrees outside AND the wind was whipping. Great. It's effing cold, AND I have to run uphill.

"The stars are stacked against you girl get back in bed"

Friday, I went to bed thinking I had set myself up for failure. I was mentally preparing myself for what I felt was the inevitable reality. I would not be able to run the 5 mile run under 50 minutes. I was preparing myself for how I would cope with my failure. I was prepping myself to not fall apart after my fail. Reminding myself that I can pick myself up and try again. That if I fail, it's going to be OK.

Saturday morning, I woke up bright an early. I crammed a Think Thin bar in my yap, drank some water, and headed out to meet up with my running group, Personally Fit's sole sistas.

During the warm up, I was mentally freaking myself out. I felt extremely anxious, why had I set myself up to fail? I was mad at myself for setting myself for failure.  I could not stop the negative thought process. Lucky for me, the ladies I run with are super fun, positive, and uplifting, so I didn't have time for the negative to completely take over. Right before I pressed "start run" on my phone, I thought to myself , "Just enjoy the run, you've already come so very far, just be proud of yourself!".

"I feel lucky"

I was able to compartmentalize the 30 Day Challenge Goal and the negative self doubt and anxiety.

One of the trainers, who I absolutely adore, ran with me for three miles. She usually runs a mile with me, then she doubles back to run with the rest of the group. Saturday, for whatever unknown reason she decided, I'm running a whole three miles with you. YES! I knew I would push myself if I ran with her. I told her my goal, and her reaction was "Sheesh girl that's fast! But you got that"

Really?? You think I can? Why don't I think I can?

Five minutes in I'd run .7 miles. Shit balls. I was so excited. I started to believe what everyone else was telling me. I think I can, I think I can. 10 minutes in- 1.2 miles. I felt like a rock star. She and I talked the entire way, we did slow down at one point, and she lit a fire under my ass around mile 2.5, "Let's push this half mile out so you have plenty of time to get under 50 for the last two miles" We hammered out that half mile, and at mile three, she left me to head back to the group. I had two miles left to run on my own. Yet I was still doubting myself. Surely I was only running so fast because she was pushing me, there's no way I can do this on my own. I kept pounding. 40 minutes in my ap said to me, " 40 minutes, Pace 9:40 (OH EM GEE), 4.1 miles run.

I finally started to really believe what everyone else had been telling me. I CAN achieve this goal. I WILL achieve this goal. At the risk of sounding utterly cheesy, I felt the negative chains fell off, Matisyahu's Miracle came pounding through my ear buds, as if designed by The Biggest Loser's Executive Producer or some crazy shit, and big fat tears started rolling down my face. At the 40 minute mark, I knew I had the goal in the bag. I wasn't exhausted, I felt I could have pounded out four more miles, and I was going to achieve my goal. I don't think I've ever felt such an intense pride in myself.

I thought about the first time I tried to run a mile on the treadmill, the way it felt when my fat was fighting me back. Like I was the punching bag and the fat Muhammad Ali. How I thought I would NEVER be a runner. How I thought I'd NEVER achieve my goals. How frequently I was reduced to tears because of the shame I felt for letting myself go, for gaining 61 pounds.

The tears kept coming.

I began coming to terms with the fact that I am no longer that girl. I'm no longer over weight and hiding in shame and self doubt. I am a runner. I am fit. I CAN do anything, ANYTHING, I set my mind to. I KNOW I can.

My last mile felt like flying, it was easy for me. Like I had done it a million times before. I know the other women in our group look at me and think, "She's a runner, why is she training with us for this little run" I know this because they say this too me, that and "She's not even sweating!" (I DO sweat, A LOT), "You're already so skinny". I worry they think I'm showing off, but they don't know my story.

They don't know about my struggle. They don't know about my fight to reclaim my body. My fight to shed 52 pounds. They don't know what I've been though on this journey to take back my life.

That last mile, I let it all out, the tears kept coming, I felt all the self doubt, all the worry, all the anxiety fall off on to the pavement. I let it all go during that last mile. I'm finally free from fat Leigh Ann.

I fucking did it.

Next Challenge- Run the 10K under an hour. I KNOW I can.

Liebster Award aka Get to Know Me Post!

Special thanks to Rebecca at Poisoned Perception for nominating me in this little game of blogger tag. It's basically an excuse to talk about yourself a little more in depth than a normal post, and gives insight into the blogger! I was never good at tag, so I probably won't follow all of the rules to a Tee. Don't be mad ya'll!

So here are the rules:

- Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
- They must also answer 11 questions the tagger has set for them.
- They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
- They must then choose 11 bloggers to tag with less than 200 followers.
- These lucky bloggers must be told.
- There are NO TAG BACKS
  1. My First name is Leigh and my Middle name is Ann. Not so coincidentally, my parents' middle Names are Lee and Ann. This makes me the favorite child
  2. Oh wait... I'm the only child
  3. I rely heavily on my friend Kate to tell me what's in style, I'm campaigning for her to start a Style Blog
  4. My husband hates how much I love Pinterest
  5. I'm  unnaturally excited to participate in Kassie's Blogger Swag Swap
  6. My favorite air freshener for my ride is Yankee Smith's Clean Cotton
  7. I'm always planning a trip to the beach
  8. I love my cat Tuesday as if she were my child, the highlight of my day was our cuddle session at lunch
  9. On average, random people comment on my height 10 times a day (I'm 5 foot 12)
  10. I've already added  Michael Buble's Christmas Album into my daily listening.
  11. I'd rather be at the gym
11 Questions from Rebecca

1. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

Elephant. I'm a gentle giant, however, I'm unafraid to stand up for myself or to protect what's mine.

2. What is your favorite healthy version of an unhealthy meal?

Weight Watchers Bubble Up Enchiladas

3. Think back to when you were a kid. What is your favorite memory?

Every Christmas Eve my Paw Paw would sneak away from the family, dress up like Santa Clause, knock on the front door, and put on a full Santa Clause act complete with a sack full of random toys and photo session with his gand babies. He would flawlessly answer all of our questions as quickly as we could fire them off, such as: Where are the reindeer? What's your favorite cookie? (He would always answer with whatever he knew had been baked- insert squeely little kid excitment)  Are you sure Paw Paw won't be upset that you just kissed Maw Maw? Am I on the nice list, I was super good this year. Do the elves know how great I look in pink??

He did this every year until he past away. A member of the family tells a Paw Paw Santa Clause story every year and to me, it never gets old. I miss him terribly

4. Most embarrassing moment. Or at least one that's pretty high up there.

Oh lawd-day. I love embarassing myself. I can't pick one, too many embarassing things happen when I'm wearing my wastey pants.

5. Favorite TV show(s)?

Today right now it's Gossip Girl

6. Explain one of your major goals in life. What, why, how, the works.

Major life goal-
What? To have my very own little chicklet
Why? The tall lady genes must be passed on
How? First I have to get pregnant
The Works? Well this is awkward....

 7. Favorite room in your house?

The back patio, my husband and I have our best talks out there

8. Would you ever go bungee jumping or sky diving?

No way jose! But I'll stand at the bottom and hold your personal effects and take pictures

9. What what the first thing you thought about this morning?

Must. get. up. and. work. out.

10. Most preferred form of exercise?

Cardio aholic. I do not discriminate.

11. If you were a pirate, what would your name be? (Or some other fact about alternate universe pirate you)

My name would be Slutty Sally, because women don't belong on pirate ships. Arrggghhhh!

My 11 Questions to Pass On:
1. How did your parents choose your name?

2. What City/Place has been your favorite travel destination?

3. If you could have dinner with any person ALIVE who would it be and where would you go?

4. We're going out for cocktails, what's your drink of choice and song that makes you want to bust out the party girl moves?

5. Who is your biggest celebrity crush today right now?

6. Rewind 10 years, now who was your biggest celebrity crush?

7.  Dream Vacation- Who, What, Where?

8.  Favorite Movie and Why?

No Carb Day

Carb Day

I've kept up with all of my work outs and done well with my eating this week. Tomorrow morning my 30 Day Challenge , can I run 5 miles under 50 minutes day? I'm feeling nervous/anxious, but I know I can do it. I put in two speed training work outs, and I've been training all month for this run. There's a cold front rolling through today, and the temperature tomorrow morning is going to be around 50 degrees. The coldest run I've done thus far is 73. I'm terrified the weather will mess with my mojo, but I really believe in myself. I can do this. I will do this.

Weekly Weigh-In- I lost .2 pounds this week. Womp Womp. I'm ok with this though. I ate a blizzard (WORTH IT), I had authentic Mexican (WORTH IT), and I drank about 2 bottles of wine in the last week (WORTH IT). Safe to say I've been having fun. Honestly, I'm more focused on my run time than my numbers this week.

I did get to catch the weight loss high contact buzz this morning! Which feels just as great as if I had done it myself. I have to give props to my girl Kate this morning, ya'll have heard me talk about her a lot. Kate and I met as undergraduate students in 2007. We both had to take 18 hours of foreign language classes to get that there bachelor's degree. Fate brought us together in French 102, we got to talking one day in class (in English) and we leaned on one another to survive through 400 level French, we plan to use these skills in Paris one day. Fingers Crossed for drinking cheap champagne on the Eiffel Tower lawn! Anywho, after graduation, she went on to grad school, I went off to work, and we lost touch for a few hot minutes. Round about July, when I started loud capping myself on the Internet to help me achieve my weight loss goals, she finds me again, we instantly pick right back up, and we've been fighting the LB battle together ever since. Kate has really been struggling to get the ball rolling, she kept hitting set back after set back, and three weeks ago she had a heartbreaking weigh in. Honestly, I was afraid she was going to give up on herself, but she didn't! She stepped up her work outs, logged all of her food, and started eating no carbs (gluten heavy) every other day. I've been doing the no carb every other day challenge alongside her, which has been awesome for me too, I'm glad I tagged along. Guess what home girl did in those 3 little weeks? She lost 5 pounds and EIGHT inches. Say what!?!?! I'm so happy for her, I caught the weight loss contact buzz from her this morning. She's been working so ridiculously hard, congrats Kate! I know without a doubt there are many more happy weigh in mornings in her future!

Here's a look at our work out this morning:

50 Minutes Elliptical Trainer
20 Minutes Forward
20 Minutes Backward
10 Minutes Combo- Whatever floats my boat
Pinterest Challenge
Upside down Bose Ball Squats with alternating shoulder press (One set of 20) - FUN and Challenging!
Waist Trimmer

Thursday Evening Work Out
Treadmill Speed Training (3 Mile Run)
Booty Work-
20 Glute Raise followed immediately with 20 glute pulse
15 Fire Hydrates
10 Forward & Back Ward Leg Circles
(Repeat other Side)
10 Bridges
20 Second Bridge Hold
Repeat 3 Times (Bridges)
Toned in 12 Abs Circuit - Three Times

My prep plan for tomorrow morning's run, rest, NO alcohol tonight, eat a balanced dinner before 7pm, get 8 hours of sleep, wake up early and eat a Think Thin bar around 6:30am, keep calm, and believe in myself.

5 Miles Under 50 minutes. I got this yo!

Casual Friday- wearing hand me down jeans this morning. Hand-me down jeans I NEVER thought I'd be able to wear. They're hand me downs from a really skinny tall lady....does that mean what I think I means? Yes, I'm living in the Twilight Zone.

Happy Friday Boss Ladies! I hope you have a rocking day!

Halloween, Speeding, & Summer 2013

Good morning Boss Ladies! We're halfway to the weekend, holla playa, that makes me so happy! Who is going to a Halloween party Saturday? The Noel's are and true to form we're waiting until the last minute to find our costumes. My husband and I always have big grandiose costume ideas that we discuss for months in advance then throw together the Saturday of, but this year we're going to throw it together the week before. We feel like we've got our shit together. This is my Wednesday project. What are you dressing up as this year?

Two-A-Day Tuesday was BUSY. I got in my afternoon interval/speed training.I'm getting better at this already so I'll need to make it more challenging on Thursday when I do this work out again. If you're just tuning in, I'm training for my first ever 10K race November 11th and I've challenged myself to run the 5 mile week 6 run under 50 minutes as part of my 30 Day Challenge. That run is this coming Saturday morning, October 27th. I also filmed your requested fitness vlogg last night, look for that video tomorrow!

Our Cajuns played at home last night- yes on a big Tuesday, how we appear on ESPN in the Sunbelt Conference, and call me an old fart, but I did not want to head down to the Stadium, fight traffic, and get suitably dressed to appear in public, on a big Tuesday. I will cut myself slack on the weekends, but I'm strict on myself during the work week- no excuses to miss a work out or diet cheats. We were going to stay home and watch the game, but we were invited to a last minute get together at a close friend's house and I really really wanted to go, so I hauled butt home from the gym, blow dried the sweat out of my hair (ew gross!), threw on a dry shirt, and headed over to their house.

The hostess, Madeline's sister Michelle, made all kinds of delicious game time snacks, It was a no carb day for me, so I used the cucumber slices she had out as chips, and ate a few meat balls, where there is a will there is a way. I drank red wine and thoroughly enjoyed myself without exceeding my calorie intake or consuming gluten heavy carbs for the day. Winning!

The Cajun's didn't win, and that's ok! Let's be real, the girl's spend a whole lot more time doing this and the men keep us up to date on the score:

That's your favorite loud mouth mid laugh cackle, thanks Mr. Noel for the action shot.

We also spent a lot of time debating the coming summer's beach trip. Our group went on a week long all you can eat, all you can drink, summer vacation to Mexico this year, and we are plotting our return. If you ever get the opportunity to go on an all inclusive vacation, do not hesitate. We're pretty spoiled to it now. Zero stress, lots of fun, and all you have to do is pack your bag. We're evaluating options, spend a week at a Florida beach favorite or venturing back to all inclusive Mexico: Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta. Have you visited either of these locations? Resort Recommendations?

As long as we get to do lots of this

and this together

We could care less where we go, but we want to evaluate all of our options. I think that Victoria's Secret swim email really got to me yesterday. All I can think about is Summer 2013, vacation, and getting me a 24 pack- of abs! Summer 2013, I am coming for you! I'll channel that VS energy into my work out this evening!

It isn't Always Easy- Snooze Strife

BAM BAM BAM BAM!! Goes the alarm.

Oh all my gees, I drug ass out of bed this morning.

Internal debate over whether or not to fulfill two-a-day Tuesday:

"I'm going to do that beast of treadmill work out this afternoon, I can totally sleep in"- Lazy Daisy
"Shut up you lazy slut and get out of bed"- Bossy Betty
"It's already 5:00am, you've already overslept, just go back to sleep"- Lazy Daisy
"You have plenty of time to get dressed and work out, now get up!!!" Bossy Betty
"mmm it's so cozy"- Lazy Daisy
"GET UP!" - Bossy Betty
"Get up or turn that shit off"- Husband

Use one leg to kick the other off the edge of the bed. Stumble around cursing my fit life, get dressed and get it done. I had to reach way deep down in my please let me wake up a hot sexy super model bag this morning to put in my work out. Good thing I did, because Victoria Secret is already sending me kindly reminders that swim season 2013 will be here before I can bang-a-lang snooze ten times fast.

They need to keep that shit to a minimum until after Christmas. Seriously. I can't spend my entire year thinking about summer. That's stressful y'all.

Tuesday AM Sweat Session:50 Minutes Elliptical Trainer
20 Minutes Forward
25 Minutes Backward
5 Minutes Blast it Out Combo

10 Minute Abs-
20 Reverse Crunchs
10 Obliques Roll Ups (5 per Side)
30 Ball Crunchs
30 Opposite Elbow to Knee Crunch on Ball
10 Situps with 10lb weight
25 Russian Twists with 10lb weight
30 Second Low Plank
30 Second High Plank

I usually don't dread the am cardio blast, but this morning my heart was not in it. Why was I so tired? I stayed up until midnight watching Gossip Girl. I don't know how I missed this show for the past 6 years, but I can not get enough. I'm half way through season 2, and thanks to Netfilx, I can watch these episodes on continuous repeat until I catch up to speed on the last and final season six!

Coincidentally, my husband does not share my Gossip Girl obsession. In fact, he thinks it's ridiculous that I'm "killing brain cells" to watch "that girl garbage". I find his irritation oddly amusing and am now using XOXO (Gossip Girl) in everyday conversation as a noun, verb and adjective. Don't feel bad for him, he's been talking like The League's Bobumman for a week, he deserves the payback. XOXO Examples:
"How was your day my little XOXO?!"
"Oh babay I'm gonna XOXO all over you!"
"What do you think of this outfit? Is it sooo XOXO??"

Oh and never underestimate the irration value of the random "Gossip Girl" whisper. If you don't watch this show, you have no idea what I'm talking about, and I probably just reaffirmed your belief that I'm a crazy lady. Log into your Netflix account and get busy watching. I extend to you my sincerest apologies if you don't get any sleep this week, start talking in XOXO, and can't part with your remote. It's an addiction.

Even my lunch breaks are looking like this:

I did my assigned Gym Rat thang last night, 2 mile run and R.I.P.P.E.D. which was a whole bunch of new moves/songs as we're now up to season 10. The chest and back section was KILLER, I'm feeling it today in that awesome I'm becoming a stronger smaller version of me kind of way. I also found out that R.I.P.P.E.D. will be taught in lieu of Butts and Guts on Wednesday this week. Holler! I'm always down to change it up.

Our Ragin Cajun's play a home game tonight, we aren't going to the game, I refuse to disrupt my weekly work outs, but we will be watching from home! True to form, I wove those Cajuns colors into my outfit this morning!

Wishing you a full on fabulous day :) Kick those don't wants to the curb!

No Carb Day

Carb Day

Saturday's run was originally scheduled for Thursday, however the trainers feel we need to do a morning run to get our minds in the zone for race day November 10th. My 30 Day Challenge is to complete this run in under 50 minutes. When I do this, I get to reward myself with a massage! Oh la la! I've never had one before, yes in my entire life, and I want one, bad bad. Training for the 10K has been fun, challenging, empowering, and rewarding. I'm already itching to start half marathon training at the end of November! Half marathon training is also serving has double duty for me, my secret plan to combat the holiday ten pound gain.

It happens every year, when I can't quite turn away from the second third slice of pumpkin pie swimming in cool whip, Maw Maw's cheesy mashed potatoes, the turkey dressing, or extra helping of green bean casserole. Oh and how could I forget, what I look forward to most, the seasonal Egg Nog Daiquiris filled to the brim with Holiday Cheer, oh wait...that's just me? Dashing through the snow!! Well guess what, it ain't happening to me this year, ya heards meh!? Oh how I love Christmas. My husband is lucky if he can keep me from putting up the tree before Halloween. So far, so good. Hopefully we'll make it to Thanksgiving this year, but it's doubtful, my track record isn't good.

Carb day breakfast favorite, Subway!
English Muffin, Egg Whites, Ham, American Cheese, Bell Pepper, Onion, & Black Pepper = 170 Calories

8 Pounds to go, coming off such a great weekend, I'm ready to conquer my Goal! I have a plan, Positive Patty all up in my kool aid, and all of you cheering me on! It's going to be a great week!

Weekend Recap - Traveling & Eating Right

What a weekend. It's been wild, it's been fun, and it's all over entirely too soon.

Friday night Susannah came in town from New Orleans, so our crew got together and consumed fermented red grapes until the wee hours of the morning. We don't get to see her beautiful face as often as we'd like, so every one was super excited for her to come into town! The aftermath looked like this:

We know how to have fun.

Early Saturday morning, I did not feel like running. I had plans to go and spend Saturday and Sunday at my Maw Maw's house in Shreveport, and my husband decided he wanted to come with me! Hot diggity dog, I do not turn down a road trip with my hubs. We had a nice visit with my family. Traveling always presents an eating well dilemma. We ate out every meal on Saturday. Ugh. My stomach hurts, but I did try to make the right choices on the go. I did not drink Saturday night, however the 580 calorie small Oreo Cheesequake Blizzard I shoveled in my yap made up for that. It was worth every single last bite. I did not want to work out Saturday, so I didn't, and that's ok. I knew I'd make myself get in my assigned 3 mile run on Sunday.

Longhorn Steakhouse Meal To Go-
Flo's Fillet, Steamed Vegetables, & Mashed Potatoes

Dairy Queen for Dessert- We don't have a Dairy Queen at home, so Mr. Noel and I made the executive decision that passing up a blizzard was a move we'd regret. The server flipped over the ice cream before handing it to us. Oh the little things

We also had the pleasure of meeting our new Aunt Casey, as my cousin's and I are now calling the apple of my Maw Maw's eye. I'd heard mixed reviews from my cousins about Aunt Casey. That she can be testy and protective of her new Mom. Which is obviously unacceptable to all of us who have been lavishing in our Maw Maw's attention all our lives. I was sceptical. However, I quickly discovered that she can bribed with treats, just like me :) Here she is in the kitchen with me, her new best friend and keeper of the milk bones. She loves me!

She's not nearly as tough as she looks. Really, she'll do anything for a milk bone, anything, wild crazy girl!

Sunday morning we hung around Maw Maw's, drinking coffee, and enjoying great company. We hit the road just after lunch time. We made it 2.5 hours south, then we ate out yet again. We had Mexican for lunch, a bad decision waiting to happen. I ordered a small fajita taco salad, without sour cream, and I used salsa for dressing. I received an over sized Taco. Mr. Noel helped me out and ate the shell. We were also able to catch the end of that nail biting Saints game, but they did win! Who Dat!

We got home, and I did everything I've been putting off a;; weekend long. Cleaning the floors, doing the laundry, and putting in that three mile run. It's true what "they" say. The first step out of the door is always the hardest! It was a fun run, and it felt great to sweat off the weekend.

Someone really missed us, even though we were only away for one night...

Now it's Sunday night television time! Our favorites:
